ACT is a private non-profit agency in
downtown San Jose that enhances the wellness of its clients. It provides
counseling, assessments, and mental health services to anyone in
need. Our programs include:
- Downtown Counseling Center Affordable counseling services
for
- persons in emotional distress,
- people with thoughts, feelings or behavior which impair
their ability to function well,
- parents and children reunifying
after legal separation,
-
individuals referred by the courts or other social agencies.
- Fireside Friendship Club People with
residual mental illness practicing self-help through socialization, music, art projects, etc.
- Family of Friends A peer-support group for people with
emotional or substance abuse problems. In addition to a co-ed
group there are separate men's
and women's groups.
- Educational and Training Classes At various times during
the year we offer classes in anger management, effective parenting, parenting after
divorce, and parenting without violence.
