Support Groups & Classes

They are for

  1. Depressed individuals
  2. People having trouble managing their anger
  3. Clients ordered to seek therapy by the courts
  4. People Dual-diagnosed with both mental problems and substance abuse
  5. People who will benefit from sharing thoughts and feelings in a supportive group

We provide or host the following groups

  • Family of Friends, for dual-diagnosed clients, and two sub-groups --- Women's only and Men's only

  • Anger Management Class
  • General Support Group
  • Classes for children in the middle of domestic strife
  • Parenting Classes

Fireside Friendship Club

It is for  people with residual mental illnesses.

We provide a therapeutic social club establishing a firm foundation for everyday life.

  • Therapeutic Recreational Activities
  • Informal Educational Discussion meetings
  • Opportunity for Individual Friendships
  • A Satisfying Support System
  • Volunteer Service Opportunities

Fireside Friendship Club meets on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and activities include games, arts and crafts, music, walks, movies, discussion, etc. There is a nominal monthly charge that provides hot lunches.

Mujeres Group

It is for Spanish speaking women.

We provide a place for them to meet to enhance their skills and abilities to cope with their problems of everyday life.

Mujeres Group meets every Tuesday between 5.00p.m. and 6.30p.m.

Getting Help at ACT
A little history --- ACT was created 50 years ago to host the Fireside Friendship Club.  We’ve added many programs since, but the Club is still going.
