Good self-care translates to good mental health

What are your New Year's resolutions?

It's not uncommon to start off the new year with high hopes for change.  There is chatter from the people around us about losing weight, working towards a promotion or staying in better contact with friends. The start of the new year is a convienient time to take stock of ourself and current situation.

The idea of self-care is not a new one.   However, taking the time to attend to our needs is often pushed aside due to the demands of our jobs & families.

The first step to self-care is to give yourself permission to set goals for yourself.  This requires time and thought.  What do you want?  What do you need?  What realistic steps are required to acheive this goal?
